Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-time Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various accounting tasks, including managing receipts, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian Revenue & Customs Authority (ERCA) regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of receipts, including collecting, organizing, and filing receipts for payments, expenses, and other financial transactions.
  • Ensure that all receipts are accurately recorded in the accounting system and reconcile them with bank statements regularly.
  • Handle any issues related to receipts promptly and efficiently, including providing receipts for payments, addressing discrepancies, and resolving any withholding matters.
  • Stay updated on the latest ERCA regulations and ensure compliance with all tax laws and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT and income tax filings, promptly.
  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.
  • Generate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure data security at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a similar industry or environment.
  • Strong understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, particularly those enforced by the Ethiopian Revenue & Customs Authority (ERCA).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CPA certification or similar qualification is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is a plus.
