Position Overview
Based at our head office of Addis Ababa, to further strengthen our business development team, we are currently seeking a:
Your Mission:
The Sales Manager is reporting directly to the General Manager of Puratos Ethiopia. The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans, based on comprehensive market intelligence, to drive profitable sales growth for Puratos in the assigned scope. The role aims to align shareholder value with the Group Strategy, adhering to Group values and policies to ensure effective and efficient organizational and departmental operations.
What you will do:
Sales Management:
- Develop and achieve sales budgets, monitor sales numbers, and oversee payment collection.
- Ensure proper handling of complaints and claims.
Partner Management:
- Develop and implement strategic planning for channels and partners to promote market development and establish a conducive business environment.
- Manage channel cooperation and support, including policies, operations, and marketing activities to boost sales and brand promotion.
Marketing and Customer Relations:
- Develop and follow up on a marketing plan, including demonstrator and technical support, and exhibitions for assigned cities and distributors.
- Regularly visit customers in the area to drive Puratos sales and implement the agreed strategy.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Liaise with all relevant departments within Puratos HQ and local staff for various matters, ensuring proper information flow and follow-up.
- Ensure market and competitive intelligence in the assigned region.
- Map and monitor competitors in the region.
Data Management and Analysis:
- Build and maintain an up-to-date customer database across all channels.
- Conducted region-wide implementation, follow-up exercises, and analyses of segments, formulating recommendations for strategy.
- Set up and maintain a customs tariffs overview matrix for all cities in the region.
Support and Special Projects:
- Support specific ad hoc questions, projects, analyses, and the preparation of strategic meetings.
- Search, analyze, and propose merger and acquisition growth opportunities, supporting investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and integration.
Local Policy Adaptation:
- Adapt local policy systems for various channels and partners to achieve business objectives, being accountable for channel sales objectives.
General Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
What we expect from you
- Academic Degree in Management, Marketing, Commerce, and related field
- Had Training in Food Science, Food Technology, or similar - Understand the functionality of ingredients/additives and interaction between carrier-filling, etc.
- Experience (years & type of experience): 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial bakery, patisserie, or chocolate production.
- Languages: English
- ICT: standard Windows – min excel
- Other expertise: Excellent written & verbal communication skills
