JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of the Technical Operator position is to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and improvement of production machinery within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on maximizing productivity, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high-quality standards through effective troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. The Technical Operator collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, adhere to safety protocols, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, ultimately supporting the organization's operational goals and enhancing overall production efficiency
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
- Safety -. Ensure that procedures and practices adhere to the safety policy of Unilever and legislation.
- Workplace Hazards - Full knowledge of the workplace and hazards within it. Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the tasks in your area.
- Environment - Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact on health, safety, and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials Operational Activities:
- Start-Up/Shutdown procedures - Oversees pre-start-up machine checks to ensure that the area and equipment are clean and in a safe condition as per the SOP. Shuts down equipment and the area as per the SOP, a proper Asset care as per the standards.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and monitor production machinery, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly. Adjust machine settings based on production requirements and specifications.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, Inspection, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a proactive approach to equipment maintenance by following preventive maintenance schedules
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet established standards.
- Document and report any defects or deviations from quality standards to the appropriate personnel.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Capture and Monitor all relevant production data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare reports on production performance, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with team members regarding production goals, challenges, and safety concerns.
- Training and Development: Assist in training new operators on equipment operation, safety protocols, and best practices. Stay updated on company trends and advancements in technology to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Continuous Improvement – An awareness of how to use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in the production area.
- Problem Solving – An awareness of how to identify, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.
- Teamwork – Must be a good team player capable of working within a highly effective team; responsible, supportive, and able communicator.
- Performance and condition of machines and process parameters on soap line.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- Minimum of technical college certificate of level III/IV with at least 3 years of work experience in a related scope.
- Good knowledge of RM/PM/GMP/MMP, line profiles, process parameters, quality parameters, … of production operations.
Skills
- Decent and practical understanding of process parameters, procedures, safety & quality standards
- Detailed Knowledge of the machine components as well as operation/troubleshooting and maintenance of the various machines in contributing to the finished goods process.
- Very good understanding and proven track record of managing MUVs and Material wastes.
- Experience with GMP and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Understand AM activity with good implementation.
- Manex/TPM/UMS detailed knowledge will be a plus.
