Job Summary

The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting product demand that ensure and maintain optimal inventory levels. This role requires analyzing sales trends, market dynamics, and inventory levels to develop accurate demand forecasts that align with business goals. The Demand Planner collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and external factors.
  • Utilize statistical tools, demand planning software, and advanced Excel functions to generate accurate forecasts for short-term and long-term demand.
  • Manage and monitor the sales demand planning impacts through the planning horizon via continuous review and assessment of the demand management forecast.
  • Drive forecasting improvements to meet targets for key products and packs, taking responsibility for training and development of colleagues in this area.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock to meet customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
  • Recommend adjustments to inventory strategies based on changes in demand patterns or supply disruptions.
  • Analyze sales and inventory data to identify trends, seasonal variances, and other factors that influence product demand.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and track forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and other relevant metrics.
  • Continuously improve forecasting methods, tools, and processes to enhance demand accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in demand planning and inventory management to streamline operations and support business growth.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply management, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
  • +5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, Operations, Preferably in FMCG industry. 
  • Proficiency in demand forecasting tools, in advanced data analysis and reporting.
  • Attention to detail is key, ruthlessly focusing on execution.
  • Experience with ERP and supply chain management systems, Customer Service, Planning experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to think critically
  • Budgeting & Planning skills
