Generic responsibilities
- Support school directors, cluster supervisors, in community mobilization, learners’ enrollment, school cleaning and distributions.
- Follow up and ensure the proper implementation of the education activities at the field level
- Participate in are level need assessment and data collection.
- Undertake & Implement Assessment for Learning, capacity development activities engaging
- Work in close collaboration with PTSA and school committees.
- Receive feedback from beneficiaries and share to education department and M&E unit.
- Workout on the improvement of children’s literacy of the IDP and host community Children
- Mobilize IDP children for educational access and archive documents.
- Support schools in mobilizing disable children for education and ensure inclusion.
- Organize learners’ data and submit biweekly and monthly updates.
- Actively promoted PESA ( Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & Principles with NRC and Among beneficiaries served by NRC.
Specific responsibilities
- The field based education support will report to the Education coordinator on all activities related to education projects and other duties as assigned.
- Work closely with the woreda education office, schools, cluster supervisors, community structures, kebele leaders, and field-based partners.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government and community structures, to ensure effective coordination and support for project service delivery.
- Travel to target schools, ECE centers, and kebeles to monitor education services and the reintegration of out-of-school children.
- Visit project sites within the woreda to follow up on project activities and progress.
- Ensure the functionality of ECE centers and provide access to pre-school learning and play for children.
- Facilitate and follow up on life skill sessions and club activities.
- Mobilize children for enrollment in collaboration with schools and local structures.
- Support schools to enhance learner retention, improve attendance, and address issues of dropout and re-enrollment.
- Participate in beneficiary selection, distribution of educational materials, and collection of distribution documents.

Qualifications

- Diploma/degree in teaching profession, including Psychology, social work, and sociology.
- Minimum one year Experienced in education in emergency or any other education related positions in a humanitarian context
- Previous experience working in hard-to-reach fields/complex contexts and far to reach areas.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Generic professional competencies:
- Experience from working as Education Social Worker, School Director, Cluster Supervisor, education administrator, or any other education related positions in a humanitarian context
- Previous experience from working in complex contexts and far to reach areas.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Documented Work Experience not less than 2 years as Education staff, educational supervision/monitoring
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
- Diploma/degree in teaching profession, curriculum, EDPM, instructional supervision, pedagogy including educational Psychology, social work, and sociology.
- Experienced from working in education in emergency or any other education related positions in a humanitarian context
- Previous experience working in hard-to-reach fields/complex contexts and far to reach areas.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Documented Work Experience in the education sector not less than one year
- Fluent in Tigrigna/local language and basic English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to Prioritize responsibilities, carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
