The Export Sales Director at East African National Distribution Share Company (EAND S.C.) a subsidiary of East African Holding SC.is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive export strategy to grow the company’s presence in existing markets and penetrate new international markets. This role ensures alignment with the company’s objectives of expanding international sales, increasing revenue, and strengthening relationships with global partners. The Export Sales Director oversees market analysis, strategic planning, business development, and operational execution to drive export growth and ensure regulatory compliance.
East African National Distribution is seeking an Export Sales Director who will be responsible for overseeing and driving export sales activities across key international markets, with a primary focus on Puntland, Somaliland, Somalia, and Djibouti. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Somali and preferably proficient in French (in addition to English), enabling effective communication and relationship-building in these regions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Export Strategy and Market Expansion:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for export sales to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels in international markets.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to shape export strategies
Sales Performance and Business Development:
- Drive export sales growth and achieve revenue targets by developing and managing relationships with international clients, distributors, and partners.
- Set and monitor sales performance goals for the export team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts to ensure profitability and competitiveness in international markets.
Market Research and Branding:
- Identify and assess potential new markets for expansion and develop go-to-market strategies tailored to each region.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to develop market-specific campaigns, promotional activities, and brand positioning in international markets.
- Attended international trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences to promote the company’s products and services.
Supply Chain and Logistics Coordination:
- Work closely with the supply chain, logistics, and operations teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of products to international markets.
- Manage and optimize export processes, including documentation, shipping, and customs clearance, to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
- Resolve logistical challenges, including freight, tariffs, and duties, ensuring a smooth export operation.
Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, export laws, and customs requirements across various regions.
- Stay updated on changing international trade policies, tariffs, and embargoes, and advise management on necessary adjustments
- Oversee the preparation of export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and export licenses
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the export sales team, ensuring a high level of motivation, performance, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align export strategies with overall company goals and mission.
- Foster a results-driven and customer-centric culture within the export department.
Qualification
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in international sales, export management, or business development in a global context.
- Proven experience in a senior export role, such as Export Director, Head of International Sales, or similar.
- Cement export experience is highly preferable.
