Job Summary

The Junior Sales Agronomist will support the promotion and sale of agricultural products (e.g., seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides) while providing technical advice and solutions to farmers and clients to enhance agricultural productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing

  • Assist in achieving sales targets by promoting agricultural products and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and understand their needs.
  • Build relationships with farmers, distributors, and other stakeholders to expand the customer base.
  • Participate in product demonstrations and field trials.

Technical Support

  • Provide technical advice to farmers on crop management, pest control, and proper use of agricultural inputs.
  • Conduct field visits to assess crop conditions and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for clients on the correct use of agricultural products.

Customer Service

  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and ensure resolution.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to build trust and satisfaction.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of sales, client interactions, and field visits.
  • Prepare regular sales and activity reports for the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Plant Science, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural practices and inputs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Second language proficiency is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for fieldwork.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Sales experience in agriculture is a plus, but not mandatory.

Work Environment

Office and field-based, requiring interaction with clients in rural and semi-rural areas.

Salary:

Negotiable based on the qualification of the applicant.

N.B: Applicants should have a CGPA of 3.20 and above.
