Job Overview
The Technical Trainer is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring training operations, as well as supporting tasks related to DigiTruck Ethiopia's training programs and trainees as required. This role involves fieldwork, requiring trainers to travel to targeted locations for specified periods and remain on-site until the training is completed. Trainers must be prepared to travel to various regional cities as part of their responsibilities.
Task and Responsibilities
- Deliver training with a high level of professionalism, adhering to industry best practices and standards.
- Conduct training sessions strictly aligned with the project curriculum and syllabus to ensure comprehensive coverage of the content.
- Ensure trainees fully understand and can effectively apply the training manual content before the training day.
- Tailor instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of trainees, ensuring optimal understanding and engagement.
- Foster a collaborative and engaging learning environment that encourages active participation, discussion, knowledge sharing, and peer-to-peer collaboration.
- Track and monitor individual trainee progress, identifying areas that require additional support to ensure mastery of the material.
- Promptly address technical issues, such as hardware malfunctions or software errors, to minimize disruptions and optimize the learning experience.
- Collect all necessary data through baseline and endline surveys, ensuring it is accurately organized in both digital and hard-copy formats.
- Maintain and organize all student-related data, including attendance sheets, consent forms, and class projects, with proper labeling for easy retrieval.
- Implement effective assessment methods to measure learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback on trends, areas for improvement, and potential challenges.
- Provide concise, informative, and frequent reports weekly to project leads, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and actionable recommendations.
- Actively contribute to project execution by providing expertise to define training requirements and schedules.
- Leverage appropriate technology tools to enhance the learning experience and provide flexibility for trainees.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to stay updated on emerging training trends and methodologies.
Requirement
- Proven experience as a trainer, particularly in coding, digital literacy, or related technical fields.
- Strong knowledge of computer basics, including operating systems, file management, and commonly used software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, Java, HTML/CSS, or JavaScript, with the ability to teach coding concepts effectively.
- Solid understanding of digital literacy concepts, including internet usage and online collaboration tools.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to address technical challenges during training sessions.
- Experience with online and offline training tools, including learning management systems (LMS) and virtual collaboration platforms.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage data accurately and maintain clear records and reports.
- Willingness to travel to various regional locations and conduct field-based training programs.
- A passion for teaching and fostering learning in diverse and inclusive environments.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications in training, coding, or education are a strong advantage.
