Returnees Reintegration Project Management Office (RR-PMO), established under the mandate of Refugees and Returnees Services (RRS), is implementing a project entitled 'Sustainable Reintegration Support to Ethiopians Returning from Europe and Support to Vulnerable Displaced Population Affected by COVID-19, which is fully funded by the EU. Currently, the office has two vacant posts in the position of Livelihood officer.

Position: IGA - Livelihood Officer

Required Qualification/Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Economics, Livelihoods, Business Development, Marketing Development Studies, Rural Development, Sociology, or other relevant disciplines from an accredited academic institution

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in business management, Community-Based Micro-Finance Institutions (CBMFIs) and other livelihood interventions, preferably in an NGO setting;
  • Demonstrated experience of working in humanitarian and development contexts;
  • Knowledge of international NGOs and UN systems is desired.

Required competence

  • Clearly understand the growing agricultural business opportunities and their implementation modalities as well as its business markets in the country;
  • Knowledge and practical experience in designing and implementing sound selection criteria and guidelines for identifying and selecting target groups for the Economic Strengthening component of the project;
  • Proven experience in providing different capacity-building training programs for project beneficiaries and other stakeholders as well as strong monitoring and follow-up mechanisms;
  • Understanding of concepts of irregular migration and sustainable reintegration support mechanisms;
  • Other skills like business plan development & financial analysis skills, computer skills, strong writing & reporting skills and efficiency in English & other local languages;
  • Excellent written and spoken command of Amharic and English language is essential;
  • Compliance with donor rules, regulations and policies of financial and project activities ensured.

Duration of Employment: 3 months with possibility of extension
