Our client, a global food leader, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead their operations in Ethiopia. An exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth of their food supply chain in the coming years. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of introducing new product lines into the fast-growing Ethiopian market and managing a team of over 290 professionals across various departments.

Responsibilities for the Supply Chain Manager:

Successful candidates will play a crucial role in shaping our client's future in Ethiopia. Responsible for ensuring safety standards are met, maintaining quality certifications, supporting procurement strategies, and setting up networks for business expansion. Your leadership will guide over 290 associates toward achieving organizational goals. You will also spearhead the integration of corporate social responsibility initiatives into the supply chain operations. This role demands a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ensure safety for all staff and meet compliance with internal and external EHS standards and legislation.
  • Ensure QFS compliance and meet AIB audit results, as well as quality certifications.
  • Support procurement localization and strategy for expansion including new raw materials setup.
  • Set up the network for the expanded business, initiating country DC’s, facilitating expanded country and East African supply locations/customers, and investing in a new primary fleet.
  • Lead the associates in E2E SC, building the organization for the expanded business

Requirements for the Supply Chain Manager Role:

The ideal candidate for this Supply Chain Manager position brings a wealth of experience from the food manufacturing sector.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Supply chain management / Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in supply chain roles in the food manufacturing sector, with at least 5 years managerial experience.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving capacity, with demonstrated ability for considerable analysis and sound judgment.
  • Good communication skills, and a proven track record of improving teams.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to a diverse and ever-changing cultural, political, and economic environment.
  • Strong English and Amharic language capabilities
