About the Job
The Junior PR & Communications Officer supports communication, branding, and public relations activities by assisting in content creation, media coordination, and internal communication efforts.
The role contributes to maintaining consistent messaging and supporting engagement with stakeholders across various platforms.
Requirements
Candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (internships included), preferably in corporate, nonprofit, or agency settings
- Strong writing and verbal skills in English and Amharic; additional local languages are a plus
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Workspace
- Understanding of brand tone, corporate messaging, and stakeholder-centered communication
- Proactive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to grow in a fast-moving environment
Key Responsibilities
The role involves supporting communication initiatives and assisting in public relations activities.
- Draft and assist in writing press releases, speeches, newsletters, web content, event briefs, and social impact stories
- Support media and public relations activities including preparing talking points and coordinating press outreach
- Assist in managing logistics for interviews and media briefings
- Support internal communication and ensure timely updates to teams, drivers, and partners
- Assist in planning and documenting events including CSR activities and training programs
- Monitor public channels and support crisis communication efforts
- Coordinate with the design team to prepare communication materials such as banners, brochures, and infographics
- Support photo and video documentation and organize media assets
