Accountant

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with 5+ years of professional accounting experience to oversee financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making. The role is responsible for managing accounting activities, maintaining financial controls, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial transactions.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Ensure accurate recording, classification, and reconciliation of all financial transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and review financial records for accuracy.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, expenses, and financial performance to support business decisions.
• Prepare financial analysis, forecasts, and variance reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
• Review and approve journal entries, payment requests, invoices, and financial documents.
• Support budgeting processes, cost control initiatives, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely collections and payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper filing of accounting documents.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
• Perform other finance-related duties assigned by management.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, general accounting, budgeting, auditing, and financial analysis.
• Experience using accounting software and ERP systems is preferred.
• IFRS and Peachtree accounting mandatory

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, Odoo, SAP, or similar systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior accounting team members.
