Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate must have a strong accounting background and at least 4 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical import/export company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing financial reports, and supporting the organization's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee the company's accounting records and financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate recording of import and export transactions.
• Prepare and file tax declarations in compliance with Ethiopian tax laws.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare financial reports for management.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years and more of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical import/export company.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards.
• Experience in import costing, inventory accounting, and foreign currency transactions is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
