Job Summary
The Senior Rewards & Benefits Officer is responsible for providing technical and analytical support in the administration and continuous improvement of salary structures, employee benefits, job evaluation, job grading, and market benchmarking. The role maintains accurate rewards data, conducts analyses, prepares technical reports, and supports the implementation of approved rewards and organizational development initiatives. The position also provides technical support to the Organizational Development Manager by facilitating data collection, preparing technical documentation, and supporting consultancy assignments related to organizational structure, job architecture, competency frameworks, salary structure, and employee benefits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Salary Structure Administration
- Maintain and update the approved salary structure database.
- Process salary placement and grade assignment in accordance with approved salary structures.
- Calculate salary progression and salary adjustment scenarios.
- Prepare salary costing and budget impact analyses.
- Analyze salary alignment with approved salary bands.
- Maintain salary history and movement records.
- Verify the accuracy of salary-related data.
- Prepare periodic salary administration reports.
2. Employee Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs in accordance with approved policies.
- Maintain employee benefits records and eligibility information.
- Process employee benefit enrollments, amendments, and updates.
- Prepare benefit utilization and cost reports.
- Monitor employee benefit expenditures.
- Maintain benefit provider records and related documentation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits.
- Support periodic review of employee benefits.
3. Market Benchmarking and Reward Analysis
- Collect salary survey information from relevant sources.
- Compile employee benefits benchmarking data.
- Analyze market salary information.
- Prepare benchmarking comparison reports.
- Update external market data repositories.
- Maintain historical benchmarking records.
- Prepare statistical summaries and trend analyses.
4. Job Evaluation & Job Analysis Support
- Support job analysis data collection across departments.
- Assist in preparing job evaluation documentation and comparison matrices.
- Support mapping of jobs to grades and salary bands.
- Maintain job evaluation records and reference documentation.
- Ensure consistency between job descriptions and grading inputs.
5. HR Data Management & Analytics
- Maintain rewards and benefits databases.
- Validate HR data accuracy and completeness.
- Generate periodic HR metrics and reports.
- Prepare dashboards on salary and employee benefits.
- Produce analytical reports for management.
- Maintain HR data confidentiality and integrity.
- Archive rewards-related documentation.
6. Support to Organizational Development Activities
- Compile organizational and job-related information required for organizational development activities.
- Update job documentation following approved organizational changes.
- Maintain organizational structure records within HR databases.
- Prepare technical information required for job architecture activities.
- Support implementation of approved grading and structural changes.
7. Consultancy Support
- Compile HR information requested by consultants.
- Collect salary, grading, and employee benefits data from work units.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of submitted information.
- Prepare technical datasets and supporting documentation.
- Arrange technical meetings, interviews, and workshop logistics.
- Record technical action items and follow up on assigned tasks.
- Organize consultancy working files and supporting documents.
- Assist in validating consultant data requirements.
- Prepare draft technical responses to consultant information requests.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a business-related field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience for Bachelor’s degree holders; or
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience for Master’s degree holders.
- Experience in HR data analysis, job evaluation, salary structure support, or benefits administration is preferred.
