Logiskills Transit Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant & Administration Assistant to join our growing team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in both accounting and administrative functions within a dynamic logistics environment. The successful candidate will assist in day-to-day accounting tasks, provide administrative support to the office, and contribute to the preparation of bids and tenders.

Responsibilities:

Accounting:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized financial records.
  • Assisting with the preparation of VAT and other tax returns.
  • Supporting the Senior Accountant with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Accurately inputting data into accounting software Peachtree.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Administration:

  • Providing general administrative support to the office, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and greeting visitors.
  • Maintaining office supplies and equipment.
  • Organizing and filing documents.
  • Scheduling meetings and appointments.
  • Assisting with travel arrangements.
  • Supporting the team with other ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.

Bid Preparation:

  • Assisting in the preparation of bid documents, including gathering information, preparing cost calculations, and ensuring compliance with tender requirements.
  • Researching market prices for goods and services related to bid preparation.
  • Maintaining a database of past bids and related information.
  • Collaborating with other departments to gather necessary information for bid submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Peachtree is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic (both written and spoken).
