The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting information for compliance and quality control over financial transactions and reporting. This permanent position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable Management:
  • Set up new awards in financial systems.
  • Manage donor invoicing and record funds received.
  • Reconcile restricted income balances and funds recognition values.
• Staff Timesheet Management:
  • Generate and manage monthly staff timesheets.
  • Communicate with staff to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
• Month-End Closing:
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end processes.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and post correcting entries.
• Financial Oversight:
  • Review accounting transactions and reconciliations from other offices.
  • Monitor compliance with financial processes and suggest improvements.
• Training and Support:
  • Design and conduct financial training workshops.
  • Provide financial training sessions across the organization.

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

• A fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
• Experienced in accounts receivable, donor invoicing, and restricted income management.
• Proficient in managing organizational timesheets and analyzing time variances.
• Strong in analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
