Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, receipts, and issues of goods.
- Ensure proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing inventory and maintain records of all items issued and returned.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with records.
- Receive materials, goods, and supplies from vendors or internal departments and maintain manual and/or computerized inventory records.
- Inspect received items for quantity, quality, and conformity to purchase orders.
- Report any discrepancies or damaged items to the relevant department.
- Ensure all items are properly labeled, stored, and organized according to type and usage.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the store or warehouse area.
- Ensure timely delivery of items to relevant departments or personnel.
- Prepare periodic reports on stock status, shortages, and reorder levels.
- Assist in preparing inventory-related reports for audits and management review.
- Ensure the store is locked and secured when not in use and monitor stock movement to prevent theft, loss, or misuse.
- Report any unusual stock movement or suspected losses immediately.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification
- Minimum: High School Diploma or Technical/Vocational Certificate.
- Preferred: Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, or a related field. Training in inventory control, store keeping, or warehouse operations is an added advantage.
- Good communication skills: English, Afan Oromo, and Amharic.
- Experience: 3-5 years.
Skills
- Understanding of reorder levels and inventory control techniques.
- Knowledge of First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) methods.
- Familiarity with store keeping and inventory software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, inventory management systems).
- Barcode scanning and electronic record-keeping.
- Attention to detail in documentation.
- Ability to maintain clean, accurate, and up-to-date inventory logs.
Security & Safety Awareness
- Ability to report and address stock losses, theft, or damage.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Effective teamwork and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and stock issues efficiently.
- Prioritization of urgent material requirements.
