International Development Enterprises (iDE) is an international NGO dedicated to creating income and livelihood opportunities for poor rural households of Ethiopia through various projects implemented in different parts of the country. Currently iDE is preparing to launch implementation a project known as– “Pastoral Areas Resilience Activity (PARA), which is aligned to USAID/Ethiopia’s newly approved five years Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS). PARA aims to improve resilience that enhances food security and inclusive economic growth in pastoralist regions of Ethiopia. This project will be implemented in Oromia, SNNP and Somali Regional States of Ethiopia. iDE is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced personnel for the positions specified hereunder. Hence, interested applicants who meet the specified requirements are invited to apply for the job opportunity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support in the undertaking value chain or sub-sector analysis for identified enterprises of People Transitioning out of Pastoralism (ToPs) supported by Pastoral Areas Resilience Activity (PARA) project. Link ToPs with the identified existing/new profitable and reliable market outlets. In collaboration with DEO, assess and identify skill gaps in marketing and business development endeavors with the aim to develop marketing and business development skills of partner staff and community with the particular emphasis given to ToPs. Duty Station : South Omo (SNNP Region – #3), Dawa Zone (Somali Region – #3), and Borena and Guji Zones (Oromia Region – #3) Education: Diploma in Economics, Dryland Crop Production, General Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension or related fields (minimum) BSc/BA in Economics, Dryland Crop Production, General Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension or related fields (desirable) Experience For Diploma, a minimum of 6 years direct experience in working with pastoralists, agro-pastoralists and farmers as an extension agent, market facilitators, etc For BSc/BA, a minimum of 3 years direct experience in working with pastoralists, agro-pastoralists and farmers as an extension agent, market facilitators, etc NGO experience is of a great advantage Qualifications & Skills: Good command of written and spoken English Knowledge of the local community’s language is compulsory Sociable and team player Highly motivated, result-oriented with the ability to handle intense pressure, willing to work in rural areas on a day-to-day basis Motor bicycle driving license is compulsory
