Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an AWS Cloud Engineer located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are seeking a talented AWS Cloud Developer with a focus on serverless architecture to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions. In this role, you will be integral to the success of our development teams, working on the integration and optimization of AWS services for web and mobile applications built on Flutter (mobile), React (web), and DynamoDB (database). You will be responsible for creating efficient cloud infrastructures that ensure high availability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serverless Application Development: Design, develop, and deploy serverless applications using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3 to support highly scalable applications.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform, ensuring infrastructure is version-controlled, modular, and repeatable.
- Cloud Integration: Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to design cloud solutions that integrate seamlessly with Flutter (mobile) and React (web) applications, optimizing for performance, security, and scalability.
- Cloud Monitoring & Security: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and security best practices using AWS CloudWatch, IAM, AWS Config, and other AWS tools to ensure secure and compliant cloud environments.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize AWS resources to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, using Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, and other AWS optimization tools.
- Real-Time Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues in real-time, ensuring minimal downtime and uninterrupted service for critical applications.
Required Skills:
- AWS Serverless Architecture: Strong experience with AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudFront for building scalable backend services.
- NoSQL & AWS Databases: Proficiency with DynamoDB and familiarity with other AWS database services such as RDS and Aurora.
- Infrastructure Automation: Experience with infrastructure automation using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to manage infrastructure as code.
- Cloud Security & IAM: In-depth knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM, VPC, encryption, and compliance standards.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and deployment using tools like AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.
- Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and deliver reliable cloud solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certification: AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect is highly desirable.
- Advanced AWS Services: Experience with AWS services like SNS, SQS, Kinesis, and EventBridge for real-time event-driven applications.
- Containerization: Familiarity with Docker and containerization, especially using AWS ECS or EKS.
- GraphQL & Serverless APIs: Experience working with GraphQL APIs and implementing serverless API patterns using AppSync or similar technologies.
