About Us

As a Christ-centered organization, HOPE International seeks to bear witness to Christ and His Kingdom through who we are, how we work, and how we serve the church. The spiritual integration (SI) department at HOPE is responsible for providing strategic direction, guidance, and coordination of HOPE’s efforts to integrate an intentional witness into every aspect of our culture and work. The director of spiritual integration leads these efforts by working with senior leaders to clarify and align vision for integrated witness, then directs the central service unit (CSU) spiritual integration department as they support department and program leaders to set and implement contextualized strategies. The director also provides oversight to the planning and administration of CSU staff discipleship efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision.
  • Leadership
  • Ensure a personal, healthy spiritual balance within family, work, and church life through the adoption of biblical personal and spiritual disciplines
  • Encourage, lead, and disciple staff in a manner that leads to increased connectivity with the mission of HOPE International
  • Partner with executive leadership to safeguard HOPE’s commitment to Christ-centeredness and Gospel proclamation
  • Manage the central service unit (CSU) spiritual integration department
  • Ensure there is healthy, dotted-line support to the global team of spiritual integration coordinators…… Ex: Campaign management and analysis
  • Spiritual Integration Strategy and Implementation
  • Support HOPE’s senior field leaders as they design and implement effective spiritual integration approaches, ensuring there are contextually appropriate strategies in place in all programs that are aligned with network standards
  • Guide the collaborative development of annual spiritual integration plans and budgets for each HOPE-managed program
  • Ensure at both the program and network levels there are robust indicators to assess the organization’s faithfulness and fruitfulness in pursuing spiritual impact
  • Ensure that HOPE is partnering effectively with local churches and other ministries
  • Promote lateral learning among HOPE staff and other stakeholders in best practices for discipleship of staff and clients
  • Staff Discipleship
  • Develop and maintain a culture of Christ-centeredness and active discipleship among central service unit (CSU) staff and for each program that HOPE manages
  • Guide and oversee HOPE’s formal spiritual formation efforts which include regular times of staff prayer, devotions, retreats, and the Faith in Practice initiative
  • Invest in intentional personal discipleship with members of the team as the Holy Spirit leads
  • Serve on the global leadership summit content team, which designs the spiritual components of the summit
  • External Relationships
  • Serve as spokesperson for HOPE as necessary, representing HOPE to other organizations and the general public in cooperation with the development and marketing departments
  • Liaise with and coordinate with external resources (such as peer practitioners, consultants, and others) as needed to support SI strategies at CSU and in the field
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, and related events
  • General
  • Stay current in the fields of microfinance, development, and missiology
  • Travel to the countries where HOPE operates
  • Support other projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International.
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for spiritual formation and disciple making in the workplace
  • General management skills. Significant leadership experience in the non-profit/local church/business sector strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, ministry leadership, business management, economics, or related field; advanced degree such as M.Div preferred
  • Travel or living experience in contexts similar to HOPE locations required
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60 nights per year, mostly international trips to visit HOPE programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate team members of a global organization
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage systems and to think strategically
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; proficiency in additional HOPE network languages (French, Spanish, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, Ukrainian, Swahili, etc.) a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, cast vision, and work collaboratively and effectively with other executives, board members, employees at all levels, and volunteers

Because we take a market-based approach to pay, this salary range is specific to US-based employment. Hires made in other countries will have a salary range based on local market factors and this range will be disclosed during the interview process.
