About the Role

Roha is looking for a highly motivated HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This role requires hands-on experience across core HR functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting HR operations and company culture-building initiatives, while working closely with different departments and management to ensure a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
  • Improve the efficiency of the HR department and the organization, and continuously enhance the employees’ experience.
  • Ensure legal compliance with regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies/procedures as required.
  • Manage human resources programs, including talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation and benefit administration, leave management, performance management, training and development, records management, succession planning, employee relations and retention, personnel transactions, compliance, and labour relations.
  • Facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience.
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees on absence and health issues, grievances, organizational changes, and all other employee relations.
  • Handle day-to-day employee requests, including support letters, certificates of experience, pay slips, bank letters, and others.
  • Manage payroll-related reporting, including regular updates to employee files, processing payments, tracking leaves, and other compensation-related records.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to the development of policies.
  • Take on other related tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure the overall success of the project and the operation.

This role is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Remuneration:

Salary is competitive and will depend on the applicant’s background and experience.

About the Candidate

As the ideal candidate, you bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring clarity and structure to complex HR challenges. You are adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a dynamic and evolving environment. You demonstrate initiative and a strong work ethic, effectively managing multiple responsibilities while contributing to both operational and strategic HR projects. You also excel in stakeholder engagement and can communicate clearly and empathetically across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience working in HR, handling employee relations, and providing HR services.
  • Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and Ethiopian labor law.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Resourceful with strong problem-solving, reporting, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in English and Amharic language (written and verbal).
  • Must be based in Ethiopia with relevant work experience.
