Why We Need You?

We are looking for a dedicated Project Driver to join our youth empowerment project, Green Growth Project, in Addis Ababa. As Project Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of project personnel, equipment, and materials to various project sites. This position requires excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Your Role?

As a Project Driver, you will be in charge of the following:

1. Carry out the driving requirements of the project/program as directed by the Manager HR & Operations.
2. Keep the car clean and check regularly light, indicators, brakes, tyre pressure, oil, battery, and radiator. Report any defects to HR OP, Manager.
3. Drive safely at all times and observe traffic rules; keep records of trips in the logbook.
4. Report immediately any car accident to police and the Manager, HR and OP.
5. If the vehicle is to be repaired, follow up the repair work and program's general check-ups of cars.
6. Ensure the annual car inspection is fulfilled on time before the Road Transport Authority’s deadline.
7. Keep vehicle documents properly.
8. Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Child Safeguarding:

Responsible to take part in awareness-raising sessions and capacity-building trainings in relation to Child Safeguarding to prevent and protect children and young people from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence, and discrimination.

Support children and young people to make them understand the CS risks and protection mechanisms.

Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation, or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the CS team at program level and/or to the respective line manager.

Job Requirements

Must Criteria

• Education: Certificate of technical training or at least grade 10 complete.
• Training: Driving License (grade 3-5).
• Experience: 4 years.

• Very good interpersonal skills at all levels of staff and a high level of integrity.
• Working at NGOs as well as international organizations is an advantage.
• Good knowledge in logistics and minor vehicle repair.
