Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Safaricom retail shop. The Shop Manager will be responsible for:

• Managing the store
• Ensuring staff performance
• Achieving sales targets
• Implementing marketing strategies
• Maintaining excellent customer service standards

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as set by the marketing department.
• Manage and supervise the shop staff, including Distributor Sales Personnel (DSPs) and shop accountants.
• Ensure all sales personnel understand and execute their respective goals, including time, route, and sector.
• Plan and implement sales and promotional programs (e.g., roadshows, sales promotions, telephone exhibitions) to expand the customer base and market share.
• Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and new customer acquisition.
• Ensure retention of existing customers and expansion into new markets.
• Provide market visits and on-the-job training to DSPs at least three times a week.
• Lead daily morning meetings with Assistant Sales Manager (ASM) and Trade Development Representatives (TDRs).
• Ensure sales targets are broken down by SKU, day, route, and DSP and visibly displayed on the performance board.
• Oversee proper record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with company audit and safety requirements.
• Ensure smooth store operations, adequate resources, and strong customer relationships.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales or at least 1 year in a team leader role.
• Strong leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage staff effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with a focus on results.
