Job Description:

Social mobilizer will be responsible for preparing weekly woreda and health facilities-based action plans with budgets, Preparing training plans and TOR, Providing technical support to Health facilities, Implementing the weekly activities closely with the Woreda health office, Health facilities and community, Providing primary health care service at Health facilities and IDP sites levels, Provide capacity building as per needed, Participate on zonal based training if only get an approval from Health and Nutrition Coordinator, Support on integration of health. The officer will Mobilize the community for various awareness creation and health promotion events, Control crowds during health service provision by the mobile health team, Make registration and keep updated demographic data, Closely work with the MHNT as one of the team members, Create smooth relationships and closely work with the community and HEWs and community representatives, Link community members who need health service to the MHT to seek proper health service, Develop an overarching plan to foster and strengthen information, Conduct RCCEs, Risk Communication & Community Engagement activities for public health emergencies, SBCC, etc.), Increase awareness and knowledge of the target communities, Creating SBCC campaigns- trigger an individual to adopt and maintain healthy behavior, Enhance utilization of evidence-based SBCC, Key message transmission via media outlets

In addition, the role of the officer will be to Prepare weekly reports, Prepare monthly program update reports, Support any assessment report Support the preparation of monthly IPPT updates, Prepare training reports, Prepare community sanitization campaign reports, Prepare success stories, Prepare file box for documentations and copy of reports, Open file box at woreda Health office levels for WV, Documents the Health and nutrition profile.

Major responsibilities:

  • Participate in woreda level and zonal meetings, work closely with government health offices, visit health facilities, and identify existing health emergency gaps.
  • Enhance utilization of evidence-based SBCC, Key message transmission via media outlets
  • Link community members who need health services to the MHT to seek proper health service
  • Increase awareness and knowledge of the target communities,
  • Conduct planning and promotion of awareness creation preventative and primitive health care services at the community level

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in public health/nursing with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
  • Certificates in EDks management, PHEM, MHPSS, and IPC are an asset.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Experience in the mobile health and nutrition intervention areas of s risk communication and SBCC campaign in humanitarian program
