About the Role:
Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a capacity for managing payables? IPT Powertech Energy PLC is looking for an Accountant–Payables to join our dynamic Finance team in Addis Ababa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate payment cycles. Experience in logistics and customs is a plus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Process supplier invoices in line with company policies and procedures
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and delivery documents
- Execute payments (cheques, bank transfers, etc.) promptly
- Maintain accurate expense and accounts payable records
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams, especially on customs-related payments
- Support monthly closings and audit preparations
- Monitor accounts payable aging and report on overdue items
- Ensure proper documentation and filing for all payable transactions
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts payable or similar role
- Experience with logistics/customs clearance processes is advantageous
- Knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (ERP is a plus)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
