Job Summary
On behalf of our clients, we are seeking an experienced Senior General Head Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing and import/export operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Cost Accounting, and Inventory Accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Maintain compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and international trade finance procedures.
- Supervise, guide, and support the accounting team to ensure performance and accuracy.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
- Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to management.
- Ensure efficient integration and operation of ERP systems and accounting software.
- Manage cash flow, banking relations, and foreign currency transactions.
- Review and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA is a plus).
- IFRS certification
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Strong background in manufacturing and import/export industries is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and international financial regulations is an asset.
