Junior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in accounting systems.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Support payroll processing and ensure accurate salary calculations.
• Assist in bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
• Monitor project-based expenses and cost allocations (particularly for construction projects).
• Prepare payment vouchers, invoices, and expense reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in VAT and withholding tax reporting.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and filing systems.
• Support senior accountants and finance managers in audits and financial reviews.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (construction or project-based accounting experience preferred).
• Familiarity with construction cost tracking, project budgeting, and contract payments is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations, VAT, and withholding tax procedures.
