Job Summary
The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of materials, supplies, and equipment. The role ensures accurate inventory records, proper stock control, and timely availability of items while maintaining an organized and secure warehouse environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Store materials in designated locations following proper storage and safety procedures.
- Issue materials and supplies based on approved requisitions and maintain accurate issuance records.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records using manual or computerized inventory management systems.
- Monitor stock levels and report low-stock, excess, or obsolete inventory to management.
- Conduct regular stock counts and participate in periodic physical inventory verification.
- Prepare inventory, stock movement, and store activity reports.
- Ensure proper labeling, organization, and cleanliness of the store.
- Safeguard inventory against damage, loss, theft, or deterioration.
- Coordinate with procurement and user departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Maintain proper documentation for goods received, issued, transferred, and returned.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, inventory procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Assist during internal and external inventory audits.
- Perform other store and inventory management duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be willing to relocate to Butajira
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing and Supplies Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- 0 - 6 Months of relevant experience as a Store Keeper, Store Officer, Inventory Controller, or in a similar role.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Experience with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Good understanding of stock receiving, storage, issuance, and reconciliation procedures.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in inventory documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different departments.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and proper material handling procedures.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and reliability.
