Job Description:
Job Purpose:
The position is responsible for providing overall leadership and coordination of the existing AP, covering both technical and administrative aspects. This includes supporting WV’s program planning, implementation, monitoring, accountability, learning, and transition processes in the region.
Major Responsibilities
Programming Standards:
- Facilitate assessment, design, review, monitoring, and evaluation of the LEAP 3.0 approach.
- Ensure adherence to Sponsorship in Programming (SiP) and child protection standards.
- Prepare quality and timely Annual Operation Plan (AOP) and Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).
- Ensure timely response to Evaluation and Audit recommendations.
- Adhere to systems and approaches for program effectiveness.
Program Execution and Financial Accountability:
- Facilitate planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of program activities.
- Monitor performance of the AP in relation to NO strategy.
- Coordinate implementation of programs/projects as per DIP.
- Ensure proper utilization of program funds.
Transformational Development:
- Facilitate a transformed/biblical worldview in the community.
- Empower the community to change their mindset towards development.
- Build confidence among the community to realize available resources.
Innovation and Creativity:
- Facilitate innovation in initiating economic projects at the household level.
- Work with the community to identify economic potentials.
- Promote new innovations and simple technologies.
Sustainability:
- Integrate transition plans and disaster preparedness into planning documents.
- Strengthen local institutions to create ownership.
- Monitor performance in relation to community empowerment.
Partnership:
- Facilitate networking relationships with stakeholders.
Team Performance:
- Facilitate team building and maintain strong relationships.
- Provide spiritual support to staff and reinforce Core Values.
- Coordinate performance management among AP staff.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Minimum Qualification required: BA/BSc Degree in Development Studies, Public Health, or Social Science. An advanced degree is preferred.
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in integrated development projects and at least 2 years’ experience in managing complex grants.
Other Competencies/Attributes:
- Computer skills and demonstrated ability in supervision.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
Full-time field-based position.
Language Requirements
Ability to communicate well in English (verbal and written).
