Surveillance Operator

Job Description

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Active Monitoring: Surveil live and recorded footage across multiple screens to identify security risks, criminal activity, or safety hazards.
• Incident Reporting: Log all suspicious activity, incidents, and breaches in a detailed, accurate, and timely manner for evidence.
• Emergency Response: Liaise with, and provide actionable intelligence to, security staff, police, or emergency services during incidents.
• System Maintenance: Report technical faults with cameras or monitoring equipment to supervisors or maintenance teams.
• Data Protection: Adhere strictly to GDPR and confidentiality rules regarding the recording and storage of footage. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Attention to Detail: Excellent observation skills for long periods to detect minor, crucial movements.
• Technical Proficiency: Competence in using CCTV software, IT systems,
• Communication Skills: Clear verbal communication for coordinating with security teams and written skills for reporting.
• Calm Under Pressure: Ability to make quick, informed decisions during emergencies.
• Integrity: High level of responsibility, honesty, and professional conduct. 

Educational Requirements and Experience

• Diploma or equivalent (required) in IT, Management, Surveillance and related fields.
• Previous experience in a control room or security role.
