Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSC Nursing) to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing advanced clinical support, with a focus on patient safety during invasive procedures, conscious sedation, and oral surgeries. You will work chair-side alongside dental specialists to monitor patient vitals, assist with medical emergencies, and ensure the highest standard of care from pre-op through recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Patient Care:

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including reviewing patient medical histories and obtaining baseline vital signs to ensure clearance for dental procedures.
• Assist in the administration and monitoring of conscious sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Monitor patients for adverse reactions, EKG abnormalities, and oxygen desaturation during procedures.
• Provide immediate emergency response and life support measures in the event of a medical crisis in the clinic (e.g., syncope, allergic reaction, cardiac event).
• Deliver post-operative care and discharge instructions to patients recovering from oral surgery, including pain management and wound care guidance.

Chair-side Assistance & Clinical Support:

• Provide high-level chair-side assistance to Oral Surgeons, Periodontists, or Pediatric Dentists during complex procedures, implant placements, and biopsies.
• Set up and maintain advanced surgical equipment and monitors (e.g., cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, suction apparatus).
• Assist in the operating room (OR) setting if the clinic handles hospital-based cases, including writing pre-operative orders under the surgeon's direction.

Infection Control & Safety:

• Strictly adhere to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and safe handling techniques for biohazardous materials.
• Ensure the sterilization of surgical instruments and the cleanliness of the clinical environment.

Documentation & Administration:

• Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records (EMR), documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies, sedatives, and emergency drugs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSC Nursing) required.
• Licensure: Valid and current RN license in [Insert State/Country]. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 years of clinical experience, preferably in critical care (ICU), emergency room (ER), or outpatient surgical settings. Experience in a dental or oral surgery setting is a significant advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Clinical Skills: Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and medication administration (including controlled substances for sedation).
• Monitoring: Ability to recognize and interpret cardiac and respiratory changes during procedures.
• Patient Focus: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to reassure anxious patients, including those with special needs or dental phobias.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail for accurate charting and medication management.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with the dental team and educate patients.

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced clinical environment requiring prolonged standing and walking.
• Exposure to anesthetic gases, radiation (x-rays), and biohazards (proper protective equipment provided).
• May require travel between clinic locations depending on practice setup.

Skills Required:
