Clearance Staff

Job Summary

The Clearance Staff is responsible for supporting the customs clearance process by preparing and verifying import documentation, coordinating with customs authorities and freight agents, maintaining accurate clearance records, and ensuring timely clearance of imported goods. The role requires excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and verify customs clearance documents for imported goods.
• Coordinate with customs officers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely customs clearance.
• Monitor the progress of shipments and follow up on customs clearance activities.
• Maintain accurate customs records and ensure all documentation is complete and properly filed.
• Support the finance team by providing customs documentation for reconciliation and payment processing.
• Resolve day-to-day customs clearance issues and escalate complex matters when necessary.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with customs authorities and local business partners.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, company policies, and import procedures.
• Prepare reports and updates on customs clearance activities when required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• College graduate or above.
• Female applicants only.

Experience

• Experience in customs clearance is preferred.

Required Skills

• Excellent English proficiency (mandatory).
• Fluent in both English and Amharic with strong listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to accurately translate between English and Amharic.
• Good computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
