Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Center Manager/Lead and technical direction from the Quality Department, the Clinical Head provides expert clinical oversight at MSIE Centres. This role involves examining clients, diagnosing health issues, delivering prescriptions and procedures in accordance with accepted medical practices and professional codes of conduct. The Clinical Head also leads and mentors the clinical team to ensure high-quality, client-centered care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Services:
- Examine inpatients and outpatients using appropriate diagnostic methods.
- Administer and prescribe medications based on clinical assessments, test reports, and counseling services.
- Provide SRH services, including safe abortion care, comprehensive family planning, ANC/PNC consultations, and general health services, following required training and competency assessment.
- Assess and treat newborn and childhood illnesses; manage clinical procedures for pediatric patients.
- Conduct health baby checkups and identify signs of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse in children.
- Perform permanent family planning methods and other procedures after completing required training.
- Ensure adherence to national medical protocols and MSIE clinical standards during service delivery.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in electronic health record systems and ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
- Respond promptly and report any clinical incidents according to MSIE guidelines.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage the clinical team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and supervision to ensure high-quality clinical services.
- Support periodic performance evaluations and competency assessments of service providers.
- Promote a client-centric care approach in all clinical activities.
Other Responsibilities:
- Support center service promotion and demand creation through field visits, community engagement sessions, and referral card distribution.
- Participate in business development tasks assigned by the supervisor to strengthen center operations.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the center’s operations and clinical excellence.
Qualification Requirements
Education:
- MD – General Practitioner, or
- BSc Health Officer, or
- BSc Nursing
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience for BSc Health Officer or BSc Nursing.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience for MD – General Practitioner.
- Experience in SRH services provision is preferred.
License:
- Valid, renewed professional certification in a clinical specialty.
Skills, Attitudes, and Attributes:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex medical information clearly.
- Conscious of government, MSI, and MSIE regulations.
- Knowledgeable in quality care concepts and clinical protocols.
