Job Summary
The Construction Excellence & Capability Development Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement across the construction business unit. The role focuses on enhancing project delivery efficiency, quality standards, cost optimization, and capability development across all construction sites.
The position plays a critical role in embedding best practices, improving project governance, strengthening technical capabilities, and enabling scalable, high-performance construction operations aligned with the organization’s growth strategy.
Job Requirement
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, Architecture, or related field
- Master’s degree is an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction, project management, or engineering roles
- Proven experience in large-scale construction or real estate development projects
- Experience in operational excellence, process improvement, project performance management, and capability development is highly desirable
Skills & Competencies:
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Good project management knowledge
- Stakeholder coordination skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of construction excellence frameworks, standards, and methodologies
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project planning, execution, and delivery
- Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve productivity, cost control, and quality
- Promote best practices and lessons learned across projects
- Monitor project performance across timelines, cost, quality, and resource utilization
- Develop performance dashboards and KPIs for construction projects
- Support project teams in resolving delivery challenges and bottlenecks
- Establish and enforce construction standards, SOPs, and technical guidelines
- Ensure QA/QC practices and compliance with regulations and safety standards
- Conduct site audits and performance reviews
- Drive cost optimization through value engineering and efficient resource utilization
- Support budgeting and cost control processes
- Lead capability development initiatives, training programs, and knowledge sharing
- Identify capability gaps and support learning, coaching, and development
- Support implementation of construction management systems, ERP, and digital tools
- Promote data-driven decision-making and improve reporting systems
