An exciting opportunity has arisen at East Africa Bottling Share Company (EABSC) – Ethiopia for the position of Country Lead – Tax. The company operates with globally recognized brands, advanced production systems, and a high-performance culture driven by passion and excellence.
The position reports directly to the Finance Director and plays a key leadership role in managing all tax-related matters within the organization.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage)
- Professional certification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- HDip in Taxation or a recognized tax certification is advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in tax or financial accounting
- At least 2+ years of leadership experience managing teams and tax/finance processes
- Experience in FMCG or multinational environments is preferred
Job Summary
Leads and manages all tax matters in Ethiopia, ensuring full compliance with local tax regulations while providing strategic tax guidance to support business growth, minimize risks, and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all tax compliance, filings, and reporting in line with local regulations
- Provide strategic tax leadership to support business decisions and growth initiatives
- Ensure proper management of corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax processes
- Align tax reporting with IFRS and financial accounting standards
- Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks across the organization
- Maintain strong relationships with tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory bodies
- Ensure proper governance, documentation, and adherence to tax policies
- Lead and manage the tax team to ensure efficiency and performance
