About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly proactive individual to join our team as a Data Encoder on a voluntary, remote basis. This is an unpaid position ideal for students, recent graduates, or anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in data management and administrative support. Your work will directly support our project by ensuring that all incoming information is accurately captured, organized, and maintained in our systems.

Key Requirements

• Personal Computer: Must own and use a reliable personal computer (Windows or Mac) with a stable internet connection.
• Fixed Schedule: Available every weekday (Monday–Friday) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in your local time zone.
• Active Online Presence: Must remain logged in and responsive on our designated communication platform (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams) for the entire shift.
• Detail-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to enter data with minimal errors, cross-check information, and maintain strict quality standards.
• Proactive Mindset: Identifies inconsistencies or missing data independently and raises issues promptly; does not wait for instructions to correct problems.
• Remote Setup: Quiet, distraction-free workspace that supports confidentiality and consistent productivity.

Primary Responsibilities

• Accurately input and update records in spreadsheets and/or databases.
• Verify data against source documents, correcting discrepancies immediately.
• Organize and rename digital files following established naming conventions.
• Generate simple reports or summaries as requested.
• Communicate progress and flag urgent issues in real time via chat.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all data-protection guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in data entry, administrative support, or similar roles (internships/volunteer work accepted).
• Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
• Basic knowledge of spreadsheet formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) is a plus.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.

Commitment
