About the Job:
Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is a global health organization working to prevent epidemics and reduce deaths from preventable health threats. The Digital Health Systems Documentation and Mapping Consultant will support Ethiopia’s Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) system by developing comprehensive, integrated documentation for digital surveillance platforms. The role focuses on improving system usability, interoperability, and sustainability through clear and structured documentation.
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software, systems, or digital platform documentation
- Experience documenting complex systems, including workflows, data models, metadata, and interoperability processes
- Experience working with health, government, or large-scale institutional systems
- Experience with APIs, system integrations, and data standards (e.g., ICD-10, HL7, FHIR)
- Proficiency with documentation and visualization tools such as Confluence, Google Workspace, GitHub Wiki, Draw.io, Lucidchart, or Visio
Key Responsibilities:
- Document and map digital health systems, workflows, and data models across platforms such as DHIS2, ePHEM, and PoE systems
- Develop system configuration documentation, SOPs, and user guides
- Document data exchange processes and interoperability between systems
- Support data quality assurance documentation and validation processes
- Prepare training materials and onboarding resources for users
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align documentation efforts
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong expertise in technical documentation for digital health or information systems
- Hands-on experience with DHIS2 systems and configurations
- Understanding of public health surveillance workflows
- Ability to document system architecture, workflows, and data exchange processes
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience working with government health information systems or public health institutions
