PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The driver is responsible for the operation of all projects and various vehicles, ensuring the safe and orderly transportation of passengers and goods. Responsibilities include:
- Daily inspection of vehicle status
- Fuelling and cleaning of the vehicle
- Maintaining accurate trip records
- Assisting the user team
- Submitting monthly reports to the Logistic Officer
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect the vehicle daily before beginning the route.
- Follow a prescribed checklist in reviewing the vehicle’s operational and safety features; record all repair needs/problems on the checklist and report findings requiring immediate attention to the mechanic.
- Complete checks of all fluids and maintain proper levels.
- Maintain cleanliness inside and outside of transit vehicles as required.
- Maintain accurate daily trip logs and provide necessary data.
- Complete all records daily and follow reporting procedures as required.
- Use sound judgment in following dispatch instructions, recognizing and creating logical sequences for pickup and drop-off of passengers efficiently.
- Operate communication devices and keep regular contact with the dispatcher.
- Observe all traffic laws, ensuring that all passengers wear seat belts and mobility aids are properly secured.
- Maintain the confidentiality of passenger information.
- Drive a variety of passenger vehicles, including vans, minivans, and automobiles.
- Follow emergency procedures as instructed by the Logistic Manager or Dispatcher.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, Skills, Training, and Experience:
- Diploma/Certificate in Auto Mechanic and a valid minimum of 3rd grade driving license.
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience with a good driving record.
- Good skills in driving and safely handling vehicles and goods.
- Ability to perform all duties associated with operating a vehicle.
- Must be able to accept and follow detailed instructions.
- Economical driving skills and good background.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and perform other duties as required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness and experience in traveling to different parts of the country.
