General Information
Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a global health nonprofit working to ensure that everyone has the opportunity for a healthy life by strengthening health systems worldwide.
MSH collaborates with local partners to improve access to quality healthcare and has operated in more than 150 countries since 1971.
The USG Eliminate TB project is a five-year initiative aimed at reducing tuberculosis incidence and mortality in Ethiopia by improving access to quality, patient-centered TB services.
Main Purpose of the Job
The Driver will provide transportation support for project staff and visitors, deliver materials, and ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of project vehicles in compliance with MSH policies.
Specific Responsibilities
- Demonstrate safe and professional driving practices in compliance with traffic regulations.
- Ensure efficient fuel usage and report consumption status.
- Maintain vehicle safety measures including tools, first aid kits, and safety equipment.
- Ensure timely vehicle servicing and proper documentation of mileage and usage.
- Deliver documents and materials to government and non-government offices.
- Support distribution of equipment, documents, and donations.
- Maintain proper vehicle log sheets and fuel records.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs with garages.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper handling of assigned vehicle.
- Provide logistical and administrative support when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma is required.
- Valid driving license with excellent driving record, especially for 4WD vehicles.
- Experience with USG-funded projects is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in similar roles.
- Experience working in Ethiopia and with USG-funded programs is an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic auto-mechanic knowledge is an advantage.
- Computer literacy is an advantage.
- Defensive driving certification is an advantage.
