Danish Refugee Council - Finance Coordinator Position
The Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Finance Coordinator - Budgeting and Reporting for our operations in Addis Ababa, Country Office.
Overall Purpose of the Role
Ensure timely preparation of budgets for new project proposals, budget revisions, efficient budget monitoring, financial donor reporting, and audit processes for the projects, in compliance with donor and DRC policies and procedures. The position will serve as the DRC Dynamics focal point for Projects finance, Grants budgeting, and Master Budgeting.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Master Budget Focal Point: Develop a country master budget for SMT informed decision-making, updated quarterly based on DRC Policy Briefs.
- Budgeting: Provide cost allocation based on gaps, ensure timely budget preparation, and manage the ETH internal budgeting tool.
- Budget Follow-up: Set up Budget Follow Ups (BFUs) in DRC Dynamics and coordinate the budget follow-up and forecasting tool.
- Donor Reporting and Compliance: Ensure timely reporting and compliance with donor rules and regulations.
- Financial Management: Organize project BFUs for effective budget monitoring and control.
- Installment Follow-up: Track installments and ensure timely follow-up with donors.
- Partnership Management: Build and strengthen the capacity of partners in financial management.

Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years proven progressive experience in finance-related positions.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working for INGOs.
- Proven experience in financial management of projects funded by humanitarian donors.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of financial compliance and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent skills in the use of computers (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Language
Excellent verbal and written English. Knowledge of Amharic is an added advantage.
