In Ethiopia, Agriterra has been active since 2015, providing support to cooperatives. Currently, Agriterra runs three projects, including:
- The "Acting Now for Food Security and Resilient Systems" project, aiming to relieve acute food insecurity risks.
- Reaching 10,340 member farmers with tailored interventions.
- Improving incomes, productivity, and sustainable land management practices.
The project runs from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025, supporting 17 primary cooperatives across three regions: Amhara, Central Ethiopia, and Oromia, involved in three value chains: wheat, maize, and potato.
Position Overview
The Finance Officer Intern will manage various finance-related tasks, ensuring smooth execution of day-to-day accounting transactions. Responsibilities include:

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Record transactions and enter data into the system.
- Maintain proper archiving of financial payment documents.
- Prepare payment vouchers for cash and cheque payments.
- Track payments to project clients.
- Follow up on client contract signatures.
- Ensure proper labeling and filing of financial records.
- Collect required financial data from cooperatives and farmers.
- Scan, upload, and archive finance-related documents.
- Assist the Project and Finance Officer in transactions and documentation.
- Support payment processes for workshops and training.
- Assist in per diem payments and settlements.
- Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned.
Expected Outputs
- Ensure accurate and systematic data entry.
- Enhance monitoring, strategic planning, and documentation evaluation.
- Maintain high data accuracy for the Acting Now project.
- Provide monthly reports.
- Ensure all partner data is complete in the system.
- Properly archive all cooperatives and partners’ data.

About You
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related qualification.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software.
- Proactive, confident, and self-motivated.
