Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and results-driven FMCG Lead (Sourcing Specialist) to oversee the sourcing, vendor management, and category growth for the ChipChip platform. This role is pivotal in ensuring a robust supply chain, expanding product categories, and driving the transition to a marketplace model. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, exceptional leadership, and in-depth sourcing and vendor relations expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Supplier Management
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to onboard high-quality, cost-effective suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring consistent supply and compliance with quality standards.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Identify and onboard manufacturers and suppliers for both existing and new product categories, including high-growth segments such as electronics and fashion.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and managed cross-functional teams, including the FMCG Managed Network, External Team, and Project Management/Data Team.
- Recruit, train, and mentor team members such as Category Expansion Leads, Onboarding Specialists, and Growth Managers.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture, ensuring alignment with department goals.
Category Expansion and Optimization
- Drive the expansion of product categories, focusing on high-demand and underperforming areas.
- Oversee pilot programs for new categories to assess market potential before full-scale launches.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to implement promotional campaigns that boost category performance.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure smooth coordination across sourcing, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes.
- To streamline operations, implement tools and systems such as vendor portals, inventory management software, and sales dashboards.
- Monitor and optimize stock levels, transitioning to a seller-managed inventory model over time.
Performance Tracking and Reporting
- Establish and monitor KPIs such as inventory turnover, stock-out rates, vendor performance, and category sales growth.
- Generate regular performance reports for leadership, highlighting achievements and addressing challenges.
- Conduct quarterly reviews with vendors and internal teams to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing, vendor management, or category development within the FMCG or e-commerce industry.
- Proven track record in leading teams and managing supplier networks.
Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data to drive decision-making.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and CRM tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
