Gynecologist/Obstetrician

Job Summary

Under the strategic management of the MCH Specialty Centre Manager, the Gynecologist/Obstetrician is responsible for delivering high-quality maternal and reproductive healthcare services. The role involves performing ANC, delivery, PNC, voluntary surgical contraception (VSC), caesarean sections, and other medical procedures in accordance with accepted medical standards and professional codes of conduct. The position also focuses on enhancing patient satisfaction, maintaining clinical excellence, and supporting the sustainability and effectiveness of clinical services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Examine patients using standard medical procedures and diagnostic tools.
• Prescribe and administer medications based on clinical findings and test results.
• Perform ANC, delivery, PNC, VSC, caesarean sections, and related procedures.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and prioritize patient interests at all times.
• Maintain high standards of clinical care within available resources.
• Prepare and submit required clinical and operational reports.
• Report clinical incidents in accordance with organizational guidelines.
• Participate in training programs and professional development activities.
• Initiate or collaborate in research activities.
• Provide specialist advice to improve quality of care and service delivery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

About You

Qualification Requirements

Education:

• MD with specialization in Gynecology

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Gynecologist

• Proficient professional competency level
• Awareness of Ministry of Health (MOH) and donor guidelines
• Good understanding of government and organizational regulations
• Knowledge of counselling concepts and models
• Understanding of quality care concepts and strategies
