Good Neighbors Ethiopia (GNE) is a humanitarian, non-governmental organization that has been implementing child sponsorship and community development programs in Ethiopia for the past 27 years, since 1997. GNE is a Korea-based organization re-registered in Ethiopia as a charity organization with Certificate No. 1135 and operates in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Agency for Civil Society Organizations.
GNE is committed to improving the lives of marginalized communities through initiatives in child protection, education, basic health services, income-generating activities (IGAs), humanitarian and emergency response, livelihood support for refugees and host communities, as well as climate and environmental programs.
Currently, GNE operates in eight regions and one city administration, including Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, Benishangul-Gumuz, Somali, Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia regions, as well as the Addis Ababa City Administration.
Good Neighbors Ethiopia is seeking a well-qualified individual to join our team and contribute to the effective management of IT systems and IT-related equipment within the organization.

Job Summary
The IT Officer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s IT systems. The role involves providing technical support, managing hardware and software resources, and supporting staff in day-to-day IT-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely technical support to staff on hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Administer and maintain local networks, internet connectivity, and IT security systems.
- Ensure regular data backup, storage management, and recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot system errors and resolve IT-related incidents efficiently.
- Manage software installations, updates, and license renewals.
- Maintain IT inventory, documentation, and service logs.
- Support online communication systems—including email, cloud services, and collaboration platforms.
- Provide IT orientation and basic training to new staff.
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and data protection standards.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Develop data protection policy.
- Keep confidential documents of the organization in the soft copy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience in IT support within an NGO or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of hardware maintenance (computers, printers, network devices).
- Strong knowledge of software systems (Windows OS, MS Office, antivirus tools, backups).
- Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN networks, servers, and internet configuration.
- Familiarity with IT security principles and data protection.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
