Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Junior PR & Communications Officer to support the organization’s internal and external communication activities. The role is designed for a young professional with some experience who is eager to grow in strategic communications, storytelling, public relations, and advocacy. The position supports the development and consistency of the company’s public image, ensuring clear communication of services, values, and impact across all audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and support preparation of press releases, speeches, newsletters, web content, event briefs, and social impact stories aligned with brand voice
- Support media relations including press outreach, coordination of interviews, and preparation of talking points and briefing materials
- Assist in internal communication by preparing announcements and updates for teams, drivers, and partners
- Support planning, coordination, and documentation of events including CSR programs, training sessions, and partnership activities
- Monitor communication channels and support crisis communication by preparing holding statements, FAQs, and response drafts under supervision
- Coordinate with design teams to develop communication materials such as banners, brochures, and digital visuals
- Support documentation of organizational activities through photos, videos, and written records
- Organize and maintain a structured archive of media and communication assets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
- 1–2 years of relevant experience, including internships in corporate, NGO, or agency environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic; additional local languages are an advantage
- Basic knowledge of communication and design tools such as Microsoft Office, Canva, and Google Workspace
- Understanding of branding, corporate messaging, and stakeholder communication principles
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop professionally in a fast-paced environment
