The Danish Energy Agency and the Danish Royal Embassy in Ethiopia are seeking a Long-Term Energy Adviser (N2) to be stationed in Ethiopia.

About the Job

We are seeking a profile with solid experience in scenario analysis. You will join our Ethiopia program as an expert and take on project management responsibilities for parts of the program in close cooperation with the rest of the team.

Long-term scenario modeling in a short- and long-term perspective is a high-priority area in our partnership with Ethiopia. Specifically, we contribute to Ethiopia's 10-year master plan for renewable energy expansion. We do this by utilizing Danish experience in energy modeling and policy advice.

You will work closely with other modeling experts in Ethiopia while having a close dialogue and coordination with the Danish Energy Agency and the embassy in Ethiopia. You will work on analyzing model results and formulating them into concrete recommendations that can be directed at decision-makers in Ethiopia. About You

• We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:
• Advanced Education: A relevant advanced technical or economic degree at the master's level.
• Modeling Expertise: Proven experience with energy system modeling tools (e.g., Balmorel, TIMES, PLEXOS, LEAP).
• Strong Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze complex energy systems and formulate actionable recommendations.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience in the Danish Energy Sector: At least 5 years of experience working in the Danish energy sector.
