Job Summary:
On behalf of our clients we are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to work part-time (2 days per week). The Senior Accountant will handle financial reconciliations, reporting, and compliance tasks while guiding junior accountants and advising management and shareholders. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the export and import sector and strong analytical and leadership skills.
Working Days: 2 Days per Week
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual bank reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Coach and supervise junior accountants working in the office and warehouse via email, phone, or in-person as needed.
- Advise management and shareholders on financial performance, planning, and compliance matters.
- Collaborate with the manager to prepare business plans and financial projections for bank loan applications.
- Monitor and update the company on new customs and revenue regulations relevant to business operations.
- Identify and prepare missing financial forms, vouchers, and documentation to ensure records are complete.
- Assist IT teams in developing and improving the company’s financial software systems.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting within the export and import sector.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax, customs, and financial regulations.
- Proven ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
