Program Manager

Job Summary

On behalf of our client organization, we are seeking a strategic, results-driven Program Manager with strong fundraising skills to scale our programs, secure critical funding, strengthen partnerships, and elevate our organizational impact nationally and internationally.

Purpose of the Role

The Program Manager will focus on resource mobilization, donor engagement, and strategic program leadership, ensuring that Wings of Healing has the funding, partnerships, and operational excellence to expand its impact.

Key objectives:

• Lead fundraising strategy and donor engagement efforts
• Secure and manage partnerships with local and international stakeholders
• Provide strategic oversight of programs to ensure alignment with organizational vision
• Inspire, mentor, and guide project teams to achieve measurable impact

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Resource Mobilization

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and partners
• Prepare compelling proposals, concept notes, and donor reports
• Identify new funding opportunities and strategic partnerships
• Represent Wings of Healing at national and international fundraising forums

Strategic Program Leadership

• Oversee all programs (POP free surgical, MCH, Nutrition, WASH, women’s empowerment, cancer & Emergency response ) focusing on impact, sustainability, and scalability
• Provide strategic guidance to align programs with organizational vision
• Identify opportunities for innovation, program improvement, and expansion

Leadership & Team Development

• Mentor and inspire program staff, coordinators, and field teams
• Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture
• Support capacity-building initiatives for staff and interns

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

• Ensure robust systems for tracking program outcomes, outputs, and impact
• Use data to inform fundraising pitches and strategic decisions
• Document lessons learned and best practices for organizational knowledge

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a strategic, highly networked, and persuasive female leader with

• Proven experience in fundraising, donor engagement, or resource mobilization
• Strong knowledge of potential donors in one or more of the following project areas: maternal and child health, women’s cancer including cervical cancer, emergency response, pelvic organ prolapse surgical intervention, water and sanitation, and women’s empowerment.
• Ability to strategically think, plan, and execute complex programs
• Excellent English and Amharic communication skills—able to impress donors and stakeholders
• Strong network in the health, social development, or NGO sector
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, and persuasive articulation
• Able to start work as of March 1, 2026

Preferred: Background in medical doctor with a Master’s degree in MPH, Project Management, or a related field preferred

Duration: Full-time contract until 31 December 2026; renewal subject to performance
