Open Position: Project Accountant

Organization Overview

HOPE International Development Agency (HIDA) is an international NGO dedicated to helping overlooked communities living in extreme poverty. It is registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia – Authority for Civil Society Organization.

HIDA seeks to hire a competent Project Accountant responsible for ensuring the health and effectiveness of HIDA’s financial system, including:

• Properly recording and managing finance matters based on donor requirements and local laws.
• Working closely with the finance officer for better financial execution.
• Being responsible for the overall financial execution at the project level.
• Coordinating financial management issues in collaboration with other departments.
• Ensuring all project finances are properly documented for all project activities.

Education and Experience

• B.A degree in Accounting.
• Knowledge of accounting practices and principles, including IPSAS.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations, both locally and internationally.
• Experience with related computer applications.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting and finance in an NGO.
