Job Summary: The Project Financing, Cost Planning and Controlling Specialist is responsible for ensuring appropriate funding, financial accuracy, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation across the project portfolio. The role involves leading project financing coordination, cost planning, budgeting, and financial control to ensure optimal resource utilization and alignment with corporate strategic objectives.
Job Requirement:
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
- CPA/ACCA or Master’s Degree is an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in project financial management, cost control, or financial analysis, preferably in a corporate environment
- Proven experience in feasibility studies and financial modeling
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), Microsoft Excel, and project management tools
- Strong financial analysis and modeling capabilities
- Cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control expertise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders
- Good project management knowledge
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and secure appropriate funding sources for projects (banks, DFIs, equity partners, internal financing)
- Prepare and review feasibility studies, financial models, and investment documentation
- Coordinate project financing processes from application to financial close
- Ensure timely availability of funds aligned with project cash flow requirements
- Develop and manage project cost estimates, CAPEX, and OPEX budgets
- Establish cost baselines and cash flow projections
- Track expenditures against budgets and monitor cost variances
- Provide financial reporting, insights, and decision support to management
- Establish cost control frameworks and financial governance systems
- Review contracts, validate payments, and monitor variations and claims
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions, investors, and stakeholders
